Pixie Pixie Neo Goth.

Young Lady, Step AWAY from the Fragrance Counter!!

I like to think of myself as a Connoisseur of perfumes. I think it just sounds a heck of a lot nicer than disgustingly obsessed. The scents, the bottles, the ads!!! What's not to love?? A delicious fragrance is the easiest and quickest way to feel instantly chic.
I have very few rules for myself, one of them being never EVER leave the house without at least two coats of mascara, never ever EVER under any circumstances leave the house in pajamas, sweats, Ugg boots, or anything of that nature by penalty of death! And lastly, never leave the house without a quick spritz (or four) of some awesome scent. Especially when one's day consists of standing behind a counter, smiling at cute boys all day. DUH! What good are you if you smell horrendous?!.....I digress.
Yadda yadda yadda, here are some of my all time favorites.
Numero Un... Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Not only because everything the man touches is pure perfection, but simply because the fragrance itself smells like a Spring picnic basket filled with baby apples, flower fields, and rainbows! And the bottle, are you kidding me? I have 2 bottles of this stuff.

Numero Deux... Chanel No. 5. Liquid chic. 'Nough said.

Numero Trois... Viktor & Rolf, Flowerbomb. Everyone is different, but my body LOVES this stuff. This scent stays with me all day, plus I smell like a giant box of Nerds candy.

Numero Quatre... Chloe. Maybe I'm biased. This girl is a huge fan of the fashion house. Hannah MacGibbon has done fantastic things since taking over as Creative Director in 2008. The ads feature three amazing women, Choe Sevigny, Anja Rubik, and Clemence Posey. The fragrance itself is super clean, super fresh, super clean. Amazing.

Numero Cinq... Parisienne by Yves Saint Laurent. I originally wanted this perfume because of the commercial that came out during the last holiday season. Legend, Kate Moss as the ultimate French sexpot. Who doesn't want to smell like they just bathed themselves in rose water?? YSL is forever perfection.

Numero Six... Flora by Gucci. Words just wont do.

Good Morning Y'all!

Happy Tuesday. Not really since everyone is back to the grind after a lovely and hopefully not too hungover Memorial Day week-end. I'm starting my morning with some 12-grain toast with apricot jam, and some of this year's spring ready to wear from Christian Dior.
Monsieur Galliano, you know my heart too well. And by far one of my favorite trends of the last couple seasons is girly ankle socks with super foxy platforms (I first noticed it from Burberry last year), but I've yet to find the perfect socks to go with my own collection of shoes.
MY search continues...Cheers to the hunt!

Hello Lover!

Delicious shoes via The Cherry Blossom Girl, Mr. Darcy via....... my dreams.

Butter > Balenciaga?

Lara Stone, Lagerfeld, vintage Dior, Alexander Wang, Miu Miu silk prints, PS1, camel coats, YSL......to anyone else they're names, afterthoughts. But to this girl, these names and words are as delicious as tender, prefectly cooked mushrooms in a plate of Supremes de Volailles aux Champignons. The subtle hint of nuttiness in spiced peaches cooked in browned butter.
I never went to fashion school, i did however graduate from Le Cordon Bleu as a card-carrying ass-kicking Pastry Chef. Food is my life, my husband, my boyfriend, my lover. But if there is anything in this world that I love more than food, it's the Fashion World.
Now, it's been said that you should never trust a skinny chef. This may be so. But for a girl who dreams in Chanel, discipline is vital. Would I indulge in fresh out-of-the-oven white chocolate macadamia cookies all day, everyday if it was socially acceptable(a dollar to whoever catches the reference)? Or eat an entire triple-chocolate Bavarois(google it) if my hips would allow it? Absolutely. But for now I'll save my indulging for my the moment I can bury my nose into a fresh Elle, i-D, or a Vogue Italia.
This blog is meant for those who obsess over food & fashion as much as I do. For those who could never choose between a turquoise Dutch oven from Le Creuset, or a turquoise ring from Yves Saint Laurent.
This blog will be a mix of well, whatever the eff I want it to be. It is my blog after all. This blog belongs to that five foot nada, 105lb, pixie-haired, obsessed-with-anything-Marc-Jacobs-touches, artist, giggle box, Pastry Chef from sunny San Diego, CA. Here goes nothin'.
